Acupuncture:  A Chinese practice of gently inserting  fine needles into the body at specific points along meridians.

Allergy Correction: A technique using the body’s meridians to address an allergen.

Aura: An energy field surrounding the physical body.

Ayurveda: An Indian practice of medicine which looks to balance the mind, body, and spirit for health.

Biophoton: A machine programmed to read energy frequencies patterns and copy, antidote, and neutralize them.

Bodywork: Any therapy or technique involving touching or manipulating the body.

Build: To support and strengthen a system or organ.

Chakras: Energy centers in the body.  Chakra means wheel or disc in Sanskrit.  There are 7 primary chakras.

Chiropractic: A system diagnosing and manipulating misalignments of the joints, especially in the spinal column.

Cleanse: To assist the body in releasing toxins.  Building long enough will also cleanse.

Colon Hydrotherapy: A practice of removing built-up fecal matter from the colon using purified water to gently irrigate and wash the colon.  Also called a Colonic or Colon Irrigation.  Colon hydrotherapy is done by a professional.

Color Therapy: A practice using specific colored lights to refill the aura and stimulate the body to heal itself.  Also called Spectro-Chrome Therapy.

Craniosacral Therapy: A technique using light touch to encourage the body to release restrictions allowing for the flow of cerebrospinal fluid.

Disease: Dis-ease is an imbalance manifesting symptoms in the body.  The symptoms are not the root cause and masking them will not address the core issue.

Doula: A profession of women who assist moms-to-be before, during, and after the birth of their baby.  A doula is there to offer information, support, and advocacy.

EMF: Electromagnetic field.  These are comprised of an electric and a magnetic field perpendicular to each other.  They are invisible waves travelling together.

EMFs can occur:

  • During nuclear reactions (like the sun’s energy)
  • Near an electric current (Maxwell’s Law)
  • When atoms absorb heat or an EMF

Manmade examples include radio waves, microwave radiation, smart meters, cell phones and WiFi signals. In fact, the body is a very sophisticated electromagnetic system. Though controversial at times, our bodies are affected by other EMF fields, often negatively.

Emotional Release:  A technique using essential oils to allow one to emotionally let go of all things that no longer serve the higher good for that individual.

Enema: Similar to Colon Hydrotherapy; however, an enema can be done at home by oneself.

Energy Work: Manipulating the body’s subtle energy and using universal energy to encourage the correction of imbalances.  Includes many modalities like Light Healing Touch, Reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Brennan Healing Science.

Environmental Poison: These are toxins around us that many of us are exposed to daily.  These include radiation, EMFs, food additives, GMOs, chemical toxins, and heavy metals.  They can be found in the air around us, our food, our personal products, our medications and vaccines, our household cleaners, and more.

Essential Fatty Acids:  Also called EFA, vitamin F, or healthy fats.  These are brain-healthy, nerve-nourishing fats including the right balance of saturated, unsaturated, and omegas.  There is some popular misinformation about eating fats, especially health-promoting, natural fats.  These natural fats have been vilified in favor or manmade fats which do not make us healthier and often make us much sicker.

Essential Oil: A naturally occurring, volatile, aromatic compounds found in the bark, roots, flowers, stems, seeds, and other parts of plants.  Essential oils help the plant to fight infections, regulate hormone-like compounds, and initiate regeneration and can also    encourage these actions in the human body.

Feng Shui: A Chinese art of arranging spaces we live and work to balance energy flows.     It uses a bagua as a map to help to achieve harmony.

Flower Essence: An energetic infusion made from the flowering part of a plant.

Geographic Energy Pollution: These are environmental poisons occurring in a  specific location a person can leave    without bringing the poison along.

GMO: Genetically modified organism.  The process of forcing genes from one species into an entirely unrelated species.  It violently breaches naturally occurring barriers        between species.  Often, viruses and bacteria genes are inserted into our foods.  Natural substances cannot be patented; GMO products can.  There are many GMOs now, and they aren’t labeled.  Organic food cannot contain GMO, at least not yet.  The list here is only a fraction of those foods, but the 25 most common.

Health: The state of being free from any injury or illness.  This does not mean simply symptom free or undiagnosed.  Health is a vibrant state of being where all aspects of a person’s life, wellness,    physical body, mental state, emotional outlook, and spiritual connection are balanced and functioning effectively.

Herbology: The science and art of using plants as medicine and supplementation to diet.

Holistic: An understanding that the parts are interconnected and create the whole.

Homeopathic Remedy: A scientifically-created substance to gently nudge the body towards a   desired result.  Based on the concept “like cures like,” these are highly diluted compounds with   essentially all of the physical components of the original substance diluted out.  This leaves its   energy.  Homeopathy works wonderfully on even pets.  When taking a remedy, it is important to wait 30 minutes after eating or drinking to take the remedy plus 30 minutes more before eating or drinking after taking the remedy.

Homeostasis:  A balanced state between all aspects of health.  The body is always seeking to achieve this.  When things are out of balance, disease occurs as the body attempts to restore order.

Infant & Child Massage: A practice of physical touch parents can use on their children to encourage physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

Iridology: The science and art of analyzing of the colored portion of our eyes.  Examining the iris can reveal inherent potential weaknesses, levels of health, and transitions in the body from lifestyle choices.

Light Healing Touch: An energy work practice used to clear energy blockages and connect the chakras. It can help with pain and can even ease the dying process.

Lymph: A system of fluid in the body that helps nourish tissue and bring wastes to be removed from the body.  Unlike blood, it has no pump and requires movement or manual stimulation to move.  Lymphatic Drain is a good bodywork technique that can get the lymph fluid moving to help with inflammation and swelling.

Magnet Therapy: The use of unidirectional magnets to bring about changes in the body.

Massage Therapy: A type of bodywork focused on the manipulation of soft body tissues.

Meridians: Energetic pathways in the body where vital force flows.  Blockages can lead to disease.  Meridian work, which includes tracing, tapping, and holding the end points of the meridians, can be helpful in many situations.

Midwife: A person trained to assist women during pregnancy and childbirth.  S/he will actively deliver the baby instead of a physician.   This allows homebirths to still have supervision and assistance.

Muscle Response Testing: Also called MRT and applied kinesiology.  This evaluation tool is used to look for normal and abnormal body functioning.  Its success is based on our polarity and our autonomic nervous system’s response to truth.

Myofascial Release:  A technique in body work using gentle, sustained pressure to help release myofascia (the Saran Wrap holding all of your body tissues in place)  adhesions and restore motion as well as reduce pain.

Naturopathy: A holistic approach to whole health.

Naturopathic Bodywork:  A hands-on form of therapy using modalities appropriate for a specific person while incorporating essential oils, flower essences, and other naturopathic tools.  Naturopathic bodywork is not massage therapy (which only a licensed massage therapist can do), though some of the same techniques may be used.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming: A technique focused on the relationship between successful behavioral patterns and the subjective experiences (specifically, patterns of thought) which underlie them.  Used in life coaching, it helps you to find the answers.

Orgonite: A mixture of catalyzed fiberglass resin with metal shavings, particles or powders, poured into molds. It clears negative energy fields, including EMFs, and helps attract positive energy.

Parasite: Any organism living off a host.  Includes flukes, worms, bacteria, viruses, molds, yeasts, and even energetic ties.

Polarity: Having poles which are positive, negative, and neutral.  All atoms, including those in the human body, have polarity.  This can become disrupted by environmental poisons, especially EMFs.  Polarity Therapy stimulates and balances the flow of energy in the body.
